The Study Abroad Program is a fully structured educational immersion for universities and international student groups seeking real-world learning experiences in Brazil. The program includes workshops, field activities, and tailored learning modules adapted to each group’s academic goals, allowing students to develop practical skills, intercultural communication, and a deeper understanding of sustainability and global challenges beyond the traditional classroom environment.
Our experienced team provides full on-site support and supervision, ensuring a well-organized educational journey that can be adapted to academic objectives, faculty expectations, and different areas of study. The experience allows students to step outside the traditional classroom environment while building valuable personal and professional skills that will benefit their future careers. The student’s experience in Brazil unfolds in two learning environments:
At Caminhos Language Centre, the students will learn Portuguese through an intensive course at one of the city’s leading language schools while experiencing the vibrant lifestyle of Ipanema Beach and discovering the culture, energy, and iconic attractions of Rio de Janeiro.
At Eco Caminhos in Nova Friburgo, the students will experience life in a real eco farm in Brazil, gaining hands-on experience in permaculture, agroforestry, natural building, and social impact projects that make a real difference in the community. They can go deeper into their studies and also have life-changing experiences which will change their perspective towards life.

Our accommodations offer the perfect balance between comfort, community, and independence, creating a welcoming environment where students can connect, relax, and fully experience Brazilian culture together.
One apartment features 4 spacious bedrooms, each with one double bed and one single bed, 4 bathrooms, a lounge area, dining room, TV room, kitchen, service area, and an additional small room.
The second apartment includes 4 bedrooms with a mix of queen, double, and single beds, 3 bathrooms, a bright living and dining area, kitchen, and service area, offering a cozy and practical atmosphere for student groups.
More than just accommodation, this is a transformative experience where students build friendships, expand their horizons, experience a new culture, and create memories that will last a lifetime
We offer two accommodation options for students, depending on the size of the group.
For smaller groups, we recommend the Ecolodge, a beautiful bioconstructed house at the heart of Eco Caminhos. Accommodating up to 8 people, it offers two suites, one bedroom, a spacious kitchen and living room, a terrace, and cozy indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Built with natural materials and double-glazed windows, it stays warm in winter, while its solar-powered system provides renewable electricity and hot showers.
For larger groups, students stay at Ecolibrium, which accommodates up to 30 people. It features five double rooms, two suites, a fully equipped communal kitchen, separate male and female bathrooms, and outdoor areas with hammocks overlooking the mountains.
Ecolibrium is part of a larger permaculture learning hub currently under development. While construction continues in some areas, all accommodation spaces are fully operational.
Occasionally, there may be some dust or noise, but many participants enjoy witnessing the natural building process as part of their experience.
This program requires a minimum group size of 6 people.
Here, we value transparency, motivation, collaboration, and kindness, initiative, and respect for shared schedules, as these help maintain harmony within the community. We invite our volunteers to bring these qualities into their experience and help create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
Eco Caminhos is a permaculture farm, offering the opportunity to experience a more conscious and sustainable way of life. As part of the community, participants are encouraged to contribute household chores when needed, and eventually supporting outdoor activities like agroforestry and bioconstruction.
Respect for everyone in the space is essential. To keep the environment safe and aligned with the spirit of our mission, the use of drugs or alcohol is forbidden on the farm.
For groups, we can arrange a comfortable, specialized van through one of our trusted transportation partners. Your driver will meet you in the arrivals hall at Rio de Janeiro Airport and take you directly to Eco Caminhos. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. Rates vary according to the group size and vehicle required.
Our permaculture farm offers a peaceful and welcoming environment where you can enjoy a carefree stay. The surrounding rural community is very safe, with significantly lower levels of violence compared to large cities in Brazil. Surrounded by nature, here you can enjoy the tranquility that the countryside provides.
